Emily Vega is a student at Gettysburg College from New York City who created her own major titled “Conversations from the Margins: Personal Narrative & Public Image.” Emily’s undergraduate studies and abroad experience in Morocco has allowed her to pursue her interest in journalism while also focusing her work on how marginalized communities are represented in media. At school, Emily has served as president of the Latin American Student Association and associate editor of the Sociology Review. When Emily is not out in the field reporting, she can be found eating couscous and drinking mint tea.
