Sonia Mohammadzadah

Sonia MohammadzadahSonia Mohammadzadah is a junior at Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, Massachusetts, where she is pursuing a major in English, a Nexus Certificate in Journalism, New Media & Public Discourse, and a 5-College Certificate in Reproductive Health, Rights & Justice. At school, she writes for Mount Holyoke Radix, an online, student-run publication showcasing various voices on issues of social justice both on and off-campus. In 2016, she interned with Planned Parenthood of Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota, and often volunteers with various women’s health non-profits.

Born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota, she spends her time reading, singing a cappella, and consuming copious amounts of caffeine. She regularly attends local art and music festivals along with conferences surrounding issues of race and reproductive rights. While in Morocco, Sonia expects to challenge herself culturally, linguistically, and academically. She hopes that by the end of her stay, she will be able to navigate the maze known as the medina of Rabat.
