Allegra Thomas is a senior at Santa Clara University, in her hometown in the San Francisco Bay Area. She is a Studio Art major with a Communication minor, and works primarily in two-dimensional media, especially drawing and painting.

She has been exploring photography lately, and is combining her passions for visual art and writing by doing photojournalism in Rabat through SIT’s Journalism and New Media Studies program.

The respect for Morrocan craftsmanship interests her and she couldn’t imagine a more photogenic, vibrant country for her fall semester.

Outside of academics, Allegra is a hobbyist who is passionate about arts and crafts, and spends many hours experimenting with embroidery, weaving, or knitting amongst other projects on her couch – often with background music ranging from Paul Simon to early 2000’s hip hop hits. She also loves to cook and tend to her herb garden and succulent planters.
